INCIDENT LOCATION: 3730 W 2nd St
This afternoon, the Duluth Fire Department responded for the report of a house with smoke and flames showing from the front porch area. The initial crew arrived to find smoke showing from an enclosed porch. The fire was quickly knocked down and assessed for fire spread. Other crews searched the home and assisted in checking for fire extension to other parts of the home.
The homeowner was home at the time of the fire, but was outside when the fire was discovered. No one was inside at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to report.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Any inquires regarding this incident can be directed to the Duluth Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office. Damage estimates for the fire are estimated at $20,000 for the home and $4,000 for the contents.
Fire Companies from Lincoln Park, Spirit Valley, Miller Hill and Downtown responded to the fire. The Duluth Police Department was on scene to render assistance as needed.
