Munger Landing to Close until Spring 2024 for Construction
[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will temporarily close Munger Landing (Clyde Avenue Boat Landing) to the public starting July 5, 2022 for a contaminated sediment removal project.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, in partnership with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and industry partners are conducting the contaminated sediment removal project through the voluntary Great Lakes Legacy Act program.
During construction, the public will not have access to the site, including the parking lots. Clyde Avenue will be closed east of the intersection with 88th Avenue West. Beyond this point, only construction vehicles and authorized personnel will be permitted access to the site.
Munger Landing is expected to re-open in early spring 2024. During the closure, alternative public water access to the Minnesota side of the Saint Louis River are located at Boy Scout Landing, Rice’s Point, and Park Point.
