Parks and Recreation ask for public feedback to guide the future of essential spaces in Duluth
[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth’s Parks & Recreation Division asks for public input in the next phase of planning the Essential Spaces: Duluth Parks, Recreation, Open Space & Trails Plan. The plan will serve as a long-range master set of guidelines and priorities that will lead decision-making for Duluth’s park system. Public participation is needed to understand better how parks, recreation, open space, and trails in Duluth should be preserved, developed, improved, and enjoyed over the next ten years.
Three community workshops are scheduled at locations across the city. Those interested in participating need only attend one workshop, as the same information will be covered at each session.
- Community Workshop #1: Wednesday, April 13: Duluth City Hall, Room 303, from 4:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.
- Community Workshop #2: Thursday, April 14: Portman Community Center, 4601 McCulloch Street, from 5:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.
- Community Workshop #3: Thursday, April 14: Morgan Park Community Center, 1242 88th Avenue West, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Free childcare will be offered on-site by Duluth Parks & Recreation staff to parents/guardians attending the workshops at the Portman Community Center and Morgan Park Community Center. Parents/guardians can register for the on-site childcare by calling the Parks office at 218-730-4300 or emailing parks@duluthmn.gov. Children must be three years old or older, and parents/guardians need to register their child in advance, as space is limited.
