INCIDENT LOCATION: 4500 block of Norwood Street
Lakeside family displaced after home fire
[Duluth, MN] At 11:15 a.m. this morning, the Duluth Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire. The fire was located on the 4500 block of Norwood Street. The homeowners who had been gone were the reporting party. Upon arriving home, the family noticed smoke coming from the main level of their home and called 911.
When fire crews arrived, they confirmed smoke and flames showing from the home. Crews laid lines to the nearest hydrant, in addition to using hose lines from responding engines to put out the fire.
No one was injured in the incident.
The home suffered a large amount of damage. Fire officials estimate $120,000 in damages to the structure and its contents. The family will be displaced until further notice.
Crews from Headquarters, Lakeside, and UMD, responded to the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
