[Duluth, MN] The Duluth Fire Department responded for the report of a structure fire early this morning in the Endion neighborhood. Initial reports were that there were flames seen coming from a ground floor window. A Duluth Police squad was on scene and used an extinguisher through an open window in an attempt to extinguish the flames. Duluth Police officers were seen vacating tenants from other apartment units when firefighters arrived.

Fire crews arrived and quickly knocked down the remaining flames, containing the fire to one room. Other crews searched the building to ensure that all units were clear of occupants and that the fire did not extend to adjacent units. 

There are no injuries to report. Two persons are displaced temporarily as a result of the fire. Fire damages are estimated at $7000. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Any inquires relating to this incident should be directed to the Duluth Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office.

Fire companies from UMD, Downtown, Woodland, Lakeside and Spirit Valley responded to this incident.
