Parks and Rec is creating Duluth’s first Natural Resource Management Program Plan – public input wanted
[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth’s Parks and Recreation staff invite the public to attend a virtual public information meeting on Monday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m. regarding Duluth’s first-ever Natural Resource Management Program Plan (NRMPP). The Plan will create a framework to guide the City and its partners to better preserve, repair, nurture, and better understand the City’s natural resources.
The NRMPP is funded by the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and is being designed along with the City’s partners, whose missions are to work on and protect public land. Once created, the NRMPP will include a set of adaptive tools designed to tell the ongoing story of natural resource work in the City, document the decisions for project prioritization and strategies, and map and collect data better to understand the condition of Duluth’s natural resources.
The meeting agenda will include:
- the program’s mission and goals
- the public lands to be included
- shared goals for prioritizing our projects
- hopes for the future
- a discussion on how this effort will support a more resilient Duluth
