This morning, the Duluth Fire Department responded for a resident reporting fire in her home. Crews arrived to find a single family dwelling with fire on the first floor. Flames and smoke could be seen venting out a side window. Crews worked to extinguish the flames and ensure that all occupants were outside. Other crews quickly assessed any fire extension to other parts of the building. 

The fire was limited to the first floor, but smoke damage could be found throughout the home. There were no injuries to report. Damage to the home is estimated at $70,000 for the building and the resident's belongings.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Any inquiries for this incident can be directed to the Duluth Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office.

Fire companies from Lincoln Park, Spirit Valley and Downtown responded to the incident.
