NATURE OF INCIDENT: House Fire

INCIDENT LOCATION: 509 W 4th St.

Early this morning, the Duluth Fire Department responded to a reported house fire. Units arriving found heavy flames coming from the first floor and the front porch. Initial reports from Duluth Police on scene was that all occupants were out of the house and accounted for. 

The fire was quickly knocked down by the first arriving company. The home was searched to ensure all occupants were indeed out of the house. Fire crews remained on scene while the fire cause was being investigated. 

There were no injuries to report. Damage estimates to the home are estimated at $60,000. The home is not habitable and occupants were put in contact with the Red Cross for shelter.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Any inquiries can be sent to the Duluth Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office. 

Units from Downtown, Lincoln Park and Spirit Valley responded to the incident. Duluth Police Department assisted with the building occupants and  control the scene.
