Duluth Fire responds to a garage fire in the Denfeld neighborhood
[Duluth, MN] The Duluth Fire Department responded to a structure fire call at 7:23 p.m. on the 3700 block of Grand Avenue. Upon arrival, crews from the Lincoln Park station found a two-car garage fully involved in fire. The crews forced their way into the garage and were quickly able to knock down the fire.
When crews from Spirit Valley and Downtown stations arrived, they began overhaul efforts on the garage. The fire started in the interior and extended into the attic space of the garage burning a hole in the gable end. A hydrant was used as a water source.
The fire caused an estimated $20,000 in damage to the structure. There is possible smoke damage to a car that had been in the garage at the time of the fire. Crews had been able to drive the car out of the garage during the fire to prevent any further damage to the vehicle.
Crews from Lincoln Park, Spirit Valley, and Downtown responded to the fire. The fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal’s Office.
