Tischer Creek bridge reopens, additional bridge work to begin Monday, March 9

[Duluth, MN] The scheduled maintenance on the Tischer Creek walking bridge located above Superior Street has been completed.  The bridge is now open.

Winter bridge work is continuing in Duluth Parks throughout the upcoming weeks. The planned maintenance activities at the impacted bridges may limit access to trail and park spaces.

-    Lester Creek Stone Arch bridge located at the park entrance off Lester River Road will remain under maintenance for several weeks.  Maintenance work started on this bridge on Monday, March 1. Contractors are working to keep access to the bridge open, but park users should plan for the bridge's temporary closure.  Park users are asked to use official alternative park access points either north of the bridge or along Amity Creek.

-    Chester Creek bridge located above 8th Street and down from North 17th Avenue East will be closed starting Monday, March 8, while contractors perform needed maintenance.

City staff identified needed bridge work during regular inspections. The planned restoration work is intended to keep them safe for public use. Winter maintenance was scheduled to reduce interruptions to the park user experience.

The public is encouraged to use alternative routes at impacted bridges. Signage and maps will be posted at bridge closures, as appropriate.
