A portion of Keene Creek Dog Park to close due to spring snowmelt
[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Division will be closing a portion of Keene Creek Dog Park to users effective Monday, March 8. This closure includes the area of the dog park where newly seeded turf was established last year. This area was temporarily opened to dog park users during the winter season when ground conditions were snow-covered and frozen. With recent warm temperatures and snowmelt, this area will be closed again to allow the turf to stabilize and establish.
Approximately a third of the large dog and all of the small dog areas will remain open. It is recommended that users exercise good dog park etiquette and are mindful of the limited space available.
Park improvements at Keene Creek Park are expected to continue during 2021, which will require additional closures of the dog park later this Spring.
