Bridge Work scheduled along Lester and Tischer Creeks to begin on March 1

[Duluth, MN] Two Duluth bridges will be undergoing winter maintenance starting Monday, March 1. The bridges are located in Lester Park and Tischer Creek and may be closed to the public during maintenance which may impact access to trail and park spaces. City staff identified that the bridges needing work during previous regular inspections.  The planned restoration work is intended to keep them safe for public use. 

The impacted bridges are located at:

- Lester Creek Stone Arch bridge located at the park entrance off Lester River Road

- Tischer Creek walking bridge located above Superior Street

City staff chose this project's timing based on fewer people using the bridges and the spaces affected during the winter months. Bridge closure and work is expected to take several weeks. The public is encouraged to use alternative routes at impacted bridges. Signage and maps will be posted at bridge closures, as appropriate.
