Boulevard Tree Pruning Scheduled for Morgan Park Neighborhood

[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth Park Maintenance crews will be pruning boulevard trees in the Morgan Park neighborhood. The estimated timeline for the pruning work will extend through early-March. Park Maintenance annually performs boulevard tree pruning activities during the winter months.

The public is asked to be aware of pruning activities as portions of streets where work is being done may be temporarily closed. If possible, please avoid driving through the work zone while crews are pruning.  Residents may notice limbs and branches left on the boulevard after pruning activities are completed. When possible, crews chip limbs and branches directly following the work. However, occasionally, they are left on the boulevard overnight.

Pruning is an important activity that promotes a healthier urban forest, reducing the risk of tree damage to property and infrastructure. Also, pruning street trees gives better clearance above sidewalks and roads and encourages the upright growth of the tree.
