Early Sunday morning, crews from the Duluth Fire Department responded to a report of a camper on fire. While responding, the call was changed to a garage fire. Crews arrived on scene and found fire venting out of a single story detached garage.
The fire was quickly knocked down and crews began overhauling the garage while extinguishing encountered hot spots. The fire was contained to the garage with no extension to nearby buildings.
Damages are estimated to be $20,000 for room and contents. The fire was accidental, with the cause being leaking propane near a heat source. Fire crews from Headquarters, Lincoln Park, and Spirit Valley responded and remained on scene for just over an hour. The Duluth Police Department provided support.
