City to host Interpretive Plan for the Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail on February 2
[Duluth, MN] Duluth’s Parks and Recreation Division will host a public meeting on the Interpretive Plan for the Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail (formerly the Western Waterfront Trail) on Tuesday, February 2 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held virtually.
Urban Ecosystems, the consultant on the project will co-lead the meeting and share the purpose of the project, present an updated draft plan and recommendations, and will take questions and provide answers during the meeting.
In Fall of 2019, the City Council approved the Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail Mini-Master Plan which recommended the completion of a separate interpretive planning process that explores the themes, mediums and stories of the river, land and its people.
Waabizheshikana: The Marten Trail, is made up of the existing 3.3-mile trail alignment, the 7-mile trail extension (proposed) and the adjacent green space managed and maintained by the City of Duluth for recreational and conservation purposes.
