Public Meeting to address Hartley Natural Area Native Plant Community Management Plan
[Duluth, MN] The public is invited to virtually join a public meeting on the Hartley Natural Area – Native Plant Community Management Plan on Wednesday, October 21 from 5-6:60 p.m. The meeting will be hosted by the City of Duluth’s Parks and Recreation division.
In early 2020, the City of Duluth formally recognized the majority of Hartley Park (620 acres) as the “Hartley Natural Area” – the second property in the City to be entered into the Duluth Natural Areas Program. Building on previous work by others, the City has been working with consultants on a Native Plant Community Management Plan, which will document restoration and management goals and methods, and identify priority projects for costing and phased implementation. Those who attend the meeting will learn about the progress to date and the direction the City and Hartley Nature Center are taking to manage this important natural resource.
