At 0602 this morning, the Duluth Fire Department was dispatched to report of a garage on fire. The initial engine company arrived within a few minutes and reported a detached garage already fully involved in fire.
The garage was approximately 20 x 24 in size, and was destroyed by the fire. An adjacent vehicle received radiated heat damage; as well as the siding on the home, which was approximately 50 feet away.
The fire was knocked down and extinguished quickly, preventing further exposure damage. Initial damage reports are estimated at $25,000. The Duluth Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
