INCIDENT LOCATION: 1700 Block of West Superior Street
Vehicles catch fire at Lincoln Park property
[Duluth, MN] At 11:16 a.m. the Duluth Fire Department responded to a call that a camper was on fire in an alley in-between West Superior Street and West 1st Street on 17th Avenue West. Crews arrived at 11:18 a.m. and reported that several vehicles were on fire.
The fire was under control at roughly 12:00 p.m. Crews worked to put out the fire using 1 Tower’s aerial master stream and 1 Engine’s deck master stream. Crews from 1 Engine, Rescue 1 and 2 Engine worked from the ground in the alley way to provide support to 1 Tower. Of the 45 cars that were parked on the two parcels, three small buses, two cars, a truck, a camper, and a VW bus had the most damage.
There are no injuries to report as a part of this fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Any inquires in regards to this incident should be directed to the Duluth Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office.
There was no damage to the adjacent properties, only to the salvage vehicles.
Fire companies from Headquarters, and Lincoln Park and Spirt Valley responded. The Duluth Police Department and Duluth Street Department also responded and provided assistance with traffic control and safety of the public.
