Today at 1:21 PM, the Duluth Fire Department responded to the report of a boater in distress on the bay side of Park Point. Responding units learned that the boat in distress was a kayak that had capsized and that there was one person in the water.
On arrival, Duluth Fire units witnessed the distressed boater being helped into a civilian fishing boat that was passing by. There were no injuries to report.
Responding agencies included the Duluth Fire Department, Duluth Police Department, Mayo Medical Ambulance Service, St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, St. Louis County Rescue Squad and the U.S. Coast Guard.
