INCIDENT LOCATION: 4617 Oneida St.

At 1146 PM on Wednesday, May 6th the Duluth Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a kitchen fire at 4617 Oneida Street. 6 Engine from the Lakeside Station was first to arrive and reported smoke throughout the first floor and all residents out of the single family home. One of the residents had partially extinguished the fire and firefighters completed extinguishment. The fire had started on the stove and extended to a microwave and the kitchen cabinets.

Firefighters from the Lakeside, UMD, Woodland and Headquarters stations responded and there were no injuries. Initial damage estimates are $15,000 to the structure and $5000 to contents. Firefighters were on scene for about one hour.
