INCIDENT LOCATION: 8 N Lakewood Road

On Sunday, March 15th 9:35 PM the Duluth Fire Department responded for the report of a house fire on 8 North Lakewood Road. Arriving crews found heavy fire attacking the front of the home. The main body of the fire was quickly knocked down, but fire spread to the walls and attic made isolation difficult. 

Crews searched the house and found no persons inside. A call was made to the homeowner who confirmed that all people and pets were indeed out of the house. There were no injuries to report. 

Crews remained on scene into the early morning to ensure that the fire remained extinguished. Damages to the building and contents are estimated to be $250,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. All inquiries relating to this incident should be directed to the Duluth Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office.

Fire Companies from Lakeside, UMD, Woodland and Headquarters stations responded to the fire. Duluth Police, Minnesota State Patrol and Minnesota Power were also on scene to render assistance.
