This morning at 0226 AM, The Duluth Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1401 E 10th St. Initial reports stated there was an attic fire. All of the family members and pets were evacuated upon our arrival.

The first arriving company reported heavy fire coming through the roof. Crews advanced handlines to the second floor and began fire attack. Primary searches confirmed there were no occupants inside the house. The main body of fire was knocked down and crews began the overhaul process. They encountered small pockets of fire throughout the second floor level.

Initial damages are estimated to be $75,000 for structure and contents. The family was unable to remain at the residence due to smoke and water damage. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The Duluth Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire. Initial findings reveal the fire to have been an electrical problem.
