Portions of the Western Waterfront Trail are Temporarily Closed

[Duluth, MN] – The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation division is advising the public that a portion of the Western Waterfront Trail is closed after the October 21, 2019 storm caused additional shoreline and trail erosion, making sections of the trail unsafe and impassable. City Staff will continue to assess damage and communicate reconstruction and trail opening once determined. In addition to this storm related closure, the Pulaski Street parking lot and a portion of the Western Waterfront Trail remain closed to accommodate the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources wetland restoration project at Kingsbury Bay. Users should obey posted closure signs and use alternate parking options at Grand Avenue, Riverside Drive, and Spring Street. Please refer to the included trail map for closure locations.
