INCIDENT LOCATION: Maple Grove Rd & Matterhorn Dr

At 17:19 p.m. on September 30th, 2019 the Duluth Fire Department responded to a call of a three inch gas line leaking. Upon arrival, crews could hear the leaking pipe as well as notice a strong smell of Natural gas. Comfort Systems was dispatched to the scene to shut down the leak. The surrounding businesses were evacuated and occupants were asked to vacate the area. The Duluth Police Department ensured traffic was blocked on Maple Grove, Matterhorn, and Burning Tree roads. Crews remained on scene for just over an hour until Utilities shut down the leak. Traffic has resumed on the affected streets and business are were able to reopen.
