Over 100 People Volunteer to Participate in Duluth’s September Adopt-a-Beach Event
[Duluth, MN] Thousands of people across the Midwest participate in the September Adopt-a-Beach event every year. This event is a day dedicated to volunteering and cleaning up beaches and shorelines along all five Great Lakes. September’s Adopt-a-Beach Event is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, and Duluth is excited to be joining millions of people caring for their local shorelines all over the world as part of this effort.
Tackling litter and plastic pollution in the Great Lakes is no small task, but on Saturday, September 21, over 100 local volunteers have signed up to make a difference.
This event is a collaboration between the City of Duluth Parks and Recreation division, Canal Park Brewing Company, Gardner Builders, Friends of the Lakewalk, Cirrus, and Duluth Screen Printing. Clean-up efforts will focus along the Lakewalk from Canal Park to Fitger’s. Additional locations may be added depending on registration numbers.
