INCIDENT LOCATION: 5805 Grand Avenue
The Duluth Fire Department responded to an explosion at a commercial building in West Duluth at 13:00 p.m. today. The building located at 5805 Grand Avenue, was undergoing building renovations. A worker was removing floor adhesive when the explosion occurred causing part of an external wall to collapse. The worker was seen at an area urgent care.
The Duluth Fire Department 8 Quint, 2 Engine, 10 Engine, 1 Tower, Rescue 1, and 251 responded to the scene. The Duluth Police Department, Comfort Systems, Minnesota Power, Fire Marshall, and City inspectors were also onsite following the explosion.
The Duluth Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the incident. Any further information will be provided by their office.
