Learn how to fight Knotweed in free workshop
[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Division is excited to announce a free Invasive Knotweed Workshop for the public. This educational opportunity is funded by a grant from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) and hosted by the City of Duluth in partnership with the Duluth Collaborative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA), MDA, and Hartley Nature Center.
The workshop will occur on August 8, 2019, at the Hartley Nature Center at 3001 Woodland Avenue from 6 – 8 p.m.
Invasive Knotweed is documented at over 300 locations in Duluth. Knotweed spreads rapidly causing damage to properties, stream corridors, and greenspace. Improper cutting and disposal of Knotweed have led to the weed spreading quickly throughout the area. At this workshop, attendees will learn about Knotweed identification, best management practices, effective treatment options, and additional resources.
