INCIDENT LOCATION: Park Point Beaches
The Duluth Fire Department is issuing a warning for dangerous swimming conditions for Park Point beaches effective immediately and continuing until 10:00 a.m. tomorrow.
Weather conditions support a High Risk of Rip Currents today.
You are advised to stay out of the water regardless of swimming experience.
This warning means that wind and wave conditions support the formation rip currents. Rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the water, and may extend as far as 100 yards offshore.
There are currently no lifeguards at Park Point, and red flags flying along the beach indicate dangerous near-shore conditions.
Water temperatures today are 36 Degrees, with winds Northeast at 10-15 MPH. Waves 2-4 Feet.
Flag locations are: 12th St beach, Lafayette Square, and Park Point beach. You will be notified if swimming conditions improve before this warning expires.
