INCIDENT TIME: 3:21 PM
INCIDENT LOCATION: 4416 Oakley Street

At 3:21 PM Sunday, the Duluth Fire Department responded for the report of smoke coming from a single family residence at 4416 Oakley Street. Duluth Fire Companies arrived to find and report smoke coming from the back of the house. The members found a small fire in the basement that was extinguished by a hose line. The occupant of the house had evacuated to safety upon smelling smoke. Primary and secondary searches confirmed that the house was clear of occupants. There were no civillian or firefighter injuries to report.

Damage to the building is estimated at $20,000. 

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Duluth Fire Marshall's Office. 

Fire Companies from Lakeside, UMD Area, Headquarters and Spirit Valley responded to the incident.
