Duluth Parks & Recreation unveil Canoe and Kayak Rack Rental Program

[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth and the Duluth Parks and Recreation Department are excited to launch its kayak and canoe rental program that will be offered at Park Point, Chambers Grove, and Brighton Beach. City staff along with City Council President Noah Hobbs and community partners will cut a ceremonial red ribbon on Thursday, May 16th, 2019 at noon in the Park Point Main Parking Lot located at 45th Street and Minnesota Avenue.

The kayak and canoe rental program was created in partnership with Duluth Parks and Recreation and the Iron Workers Union 512 Apprentice Program. This program will allow renters to store their canoe or kayak at one of three locations during the open water season, and explore Lake Superior, the St. Louis River Estuary, in addition to other local rivers and creeks without hauling watercraft each time they want to paddle. Rentals will be available to residents and non-residents from May 1st through October 15th. Racks can be rented for $100 if you are a Duluth resident, and $175 for non-residents.
