Duluth Parks Offers Free Skating Events

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth’s Parks and Recreation Division is encouraging youth and families to stay active and participate in fun winter activities. Extra sessions of free indoor community skating at the Essentia Duluth Heritage Center, 120 S 30thth Ave West, are scheduled during the upcoming week:

Wednesday, December 26, 1:30-3:30 pm

Thursday, December 27, 9:15-10:45 am

Friday, December 28, 9:15-10:45 am

In addition, the outdoor rink at the Bayfront Family Center is scheduled to open, weather permitting, on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Regular hours of operation will be Monday-Friday, 4-8pm; Saturdays, 1-8pm and Sundays 1-5pm. A small bonfire will be made on Friday evenings, with free hot chocolate and marshmallows available in the Family Center. During ISD 709’s school break, February 18-22, 2019, the skating rink will be open 1-8pm. The Bayfront Family Center will be closed if wind chills reach -20 Fahrenheit, or if warm weather causes melting and standing water to form on the rink.
