Public Meetings to Discuss Duluth Winnipeg and Pacific Trail Restoration
[Duluth, MN] – The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation staff will host 2 public meetings on December 18 and 20, to discuss efforts to fully restore the Duluth Winnipeg and Pacific (DWP) Trail. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss trail usage, safety and user conflict mitigation. The project planning focuses on the portion of the DWP Trail that runs continuously for roughly six miles from the base of Spirit Mountain to Becks Road. This scenic trail above the river estuary and neighborhoods below provides excellent opportunity for multi-use trail connectivity for the City trail system.
Planning efforts will result in a publicly vetted document to become an addendum to the existing St. Louis River Corridor Trails Plan from 2017. Additional topics discussed at these meetings may include neighborhood access points and parking, signage and wayfinding, and interpretation.
The public meetings will take place on:
Tuesday, December 18th
5:00 – 6:30 pm
Portman Community Center, 4601 McCulloch Street
Thursday, December 20th
5:00 – 6:30 pm
Morgan Park Community Center, 1242 88th Ave West
