Celebration of Ely's Peak Equestrian Trail Planned for October 12, 11 AM

[Duluth, MN] – The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Division and members of the public will celebrate completion of the Ely's Peak trail, a 3.7 mile loop in West Duluth. This celebration event will take place on Friday, October 12 at 11:00 am.

Modifications to the existing Ely's Peak trail Loop were made to create an improved and hardened trail surface that could withstand summer use by both hikers and equestrians. The improvements will also benefit the cross country ski loop by allowing grooming in low snow conditions. This project was made possible with half and half tourism tax funding combined with other grants and volunteer work from Duluth Area Horse Trail Alliance members.

The public and media are asked to park at the Magney Snively Trail head on West Skyline Parkway, located just past Stewart Creek as you head west. (see map)
