Boy Scout Landing Fishing Pier Relocated to Perch Lake

[Duluth, MN] - The public is being informed of a change at Boy Scout Landing, a popular water access point in the Gary New Duluth neighborhood. The fishing pier normally installed at Boy Scout Landing will be relocated to Perch Lake as of today, May 22 due to the new development of a large sand bar where the fishing pier is normally installed. This discovery required the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the City of Duluth to collaborate on determining alternate locations for the fishing pier. Shore fishing is still available at Boy Scout Landing along with other water access sites on the St. Louis River, including Rice’s Point Interstate Fishing Pier, Indian Point Fishing Pier, Munger Landing Fishing Pier, and Chambers Grove Park.

Questions can be directed to Kevin Johnson, Two Harbors Assistant Area Supervisor, DNR Parks and Trails Division, 218-834-1431 or kevin.g.johnson@state.mn.us
