12th Street Beach Access on Park Point to Undergo Improvements This Week 

 

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation division is making some improvements to the beach access at the 12th St. parking lot on Park Point starting today, May 14 until May 18. 

 

The parking lot will be closed for staging of equipment. Improvements to the beach access during this closure will include a new boardwalk, observation deck and fencing along the edge of the parking lot. This work is replacing existing infrastructure that has reached the end of its lifespan. The parking lot is anticipated to reopen by May 18 at 4 pm. If work cannot be completed by May 18, crews will return the following week for final details but will leave the parking lot open for public use. 

 

Towards the end of this month, the parking lot surface will need to be seal coated and parking space lines painted. This work will require the lot to be closed for one day with the date determined by the weather and contractor availability.
