Public Meeting to Discuss New WWI Memorial at Memorial Park in West Duluth

 

[Duluth, MN] - The public is invited to attend a public meeting regarding the design of a new WWI Memorial at Memorial Park in West Duluth. This is the second public meeting with the purpose of gathering additional public input for the new memorial that will honor those who lost their lives in the Great War. The result of this public process will be to replace the current aged memorial with a new WWI Memorial.

The second public meeting will take place on:

Wednesday, May 2nd

6:30-8:00 p.m.

Evergreen Center, 5830 Grand Ave

Duluth, MN 55807

 

The City is requesting feedback about the design components. An online survey has been created for public input at, https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GTX9J53  It is anticipated that the new memorial will be constructed in 2018 and completed prior to Veterans Day.

Memorial Park is one of four qualifying parks for the Grand Avenue Parks Fund. The fund is part of the larger St. Louis River Corridor Initiative  supported by the 1/2 and 1/2 tourism tax fund.
