Duluth Parks Commission Annual Meeting is April 11
"Legacy of Duluth Parks. Past, Present and Future"
[Duluth, MN] - The Duluth Parks and Recreation Commission will be hosting its annual meeting highlighting the "Legacy of Duluth Parks. Past, Present and Future," on Wednesday, April 11 at the Spirit Mountain Grand Avenue Chalet, 8551 Grand Ave at 4:30 pm. The public will learn more about the past year's achievements, partnerships and initiatives from the Parks Commission and Parks staff before hearing from keynote speaker and local author, Tony Dierckins.
In his speech, Dierckins will explore how the development of Duluth’s remarkable parks system—including over 170 park properties and roadways encompassing approximately 12,000 acres or 25 percent of the city—was driven by the combined efforts of pioneers, politicians, and a generous and energetic public.
The doors open at 4:30 pm and the program will commence at 5:00 pm. This event is free and open to the public. Parks staff will be available before and after the program to address questions. Light refreshments will be served following the program.
