Public Meeting to Discuss Riverside Park Mini-Master Plan

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation division invites the public to attend an informational meeting to discuss 2018 improvements to Riverside Park. Residents who attend will be able to provide feedback on the final design.

The public meeting will take place on February 27, 2018 at Morgan Park Community Rec Center 1242 88th Avenue West at 6 pm. Proposed improvements to the park include building removal, updates to the playground, sidewalk connectivity, half-court basketball/sport court, planting of additional shade trees, berm removal, community garden shed and fence, porta-potty slab screen, buckthorn removal and new benches and picnic tables.

In 2016, the City Council approved the Riverside Park Mini-Master Plan which outlines both short-term and long-term improvements to the park and acts as a guiding document for both the City and community partners. More information about the Riverside Park Mini-Master Plan can be found on the City of Duluth Parks website: www.duluthmn.gov/st-louis-river-corridor/neighborhood-parks/

Anyone unable to attend this meeting may email comments or questions to Lisa Luokkala, Project Coordinator, at lluokkala@duluthmn.gov or call at (218)730-4312.

Riverside Park is part of the larger St. Louis River Corridor Initiative: Connecting People to the River and is funded in part by the ½ and ½ Tourism Tax Fund.
