Public Meeting to Discuss Shared Use Trail in Chester Bowl Park

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation division is inviting residents to a public meeting on February 20 to discuss the progress of the shared use cross-country ski trail at Chester Bowl Park that was implemented during the winter of 2017-2018. This will be the first of two public meetings about the Chester Bowl cross-country ski trail.  At the first public meeting, City Parks staff will provide an update of the on-going trail use survey, observations from on-site monitoring, listen to public input and answer questions about the cross-country ski trail.

The public meeting will take place on:       Tuesday, February 20th

                                                                 5:30-6:30 p.m.

                                                                 Chester Bowl Chalet

                                                                 1801 E Skyline Pkwy

                                                                 Duluth, MN 55812

This public meeting will help the City better understand how the current shared use trail is working. It will also provide a great opportunity for City staff to hear from trail users and get their input. The result of this public process will be to bring a formal recommendation for the Chester Bowl cross-country ski trail to the City Council as outlined in the Chester Park mini-master plan.

The online survey is still available and open for public comments.  If you haven’t yet participated in the survey, you can do so here - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/chesterbowlskitrail

Questions can be directed to Andy Holak, City Trails Coordinator, at aholak@duluthmn.gov
