INCIDENT LOCATION: 1919 East 9th Street
At 11:15 the Duluth Fire Department responded to a Structure fire at 1919 East 9th Street. Upon arrival, crews found smoke filling house with fire in basement duct work. Home owner and maintenance worker were able to get out on own before we arrived. The fire was quickly extinguished, but caused around $30,000 of damage to the structure.
Fire Marshall's office is investigating the fire but appears to be an accidental maintenance fire.
Fire companies from Headquarters, UMD, Woodland and Lakeside Fire Stations responded along with Duluth Police Squads and were on scene for 2 hours.
