Bayfront Park Skating Rink and Family Center Programs Open to the Public on January 2

 

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation division will be starting up the Bayfront Family Center Outdoor Skating and Winter Playground programming on Tuesday, January 2nd. The program and ice rink will be free to the public and will open 7 days a week, weather permitting, for pleasure skaters and others who want to enjoy winter at its best. Ice skates, sleds, snowshoes and snow sculpting tools available for loan on site. Throughout the season on Friday nights come enjoy an outdoor fire, free hot chocolate and marshmallows, or come any evening to sit and warm up near the cozy outdoor fireplace!

 

Operating hours are:

Monday—Friday from 4-8 pm

Saturdays from 1-8 pm 

Sundays from 1-5 pm

 

There are extended hours planned during Mid-winter Break (February 19-23) from 1-8pm. The rink is subject to closure if there is inclement weather (wind chill of – 20°) or if warm temperatures create puddles.
