Duluth Parks neighborhood grant program awards $46,150 to community organizations
 
 
[Duluth, MN] – The City of Duluth is announcing the recent awards totaling $46,150 in grants from the Community Parks and Recreation Program Grants to community organizations. The Fund is administered by the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. The fund helps support community groups that enhance both physical and social aspects of City parks. Funded applicants from the fall 2017 round include:
 
Chester Bowl Improvement Club - $5,000 for chairlift slip tester equipment and radios
 
Morgan Park Smithville Community Club - $5,000 for purchase of a lawnmower to maintain community green spaces
 
The Hills Youth & Family Services - $5,000 for classroom presentation equipment and bench installation at Washington Center
 
Northern Expressions Arts Collective - $1,500 for Community potlucks at Harrison Park
 
Welch Center - $5,000 for expansion of winter youth programming
 
Duluth Area Horse Trail Alliance - $5,000 for equestrian trail signage at Ely’s Peak
 
Ecolibrium3 - $5,000 for installation of interpretive kiosks signs at Lincoln Park
 
St. Louis River Alliance - $5,000 for development of St. Louis River Estuary water trail maps
 
Superior Hiking Trail Association - $3,150 for creation and installation of signage along Superior Hiking Trail loops
 
Duluth Climbers Coalition - $5,000 for ADA trail construction at Quarry Park
 
Piedmont Heights Amateur Hockey Association - $5,000 for kitchen renovations at Piedmont Heights
