Duluth Parks to Host Informational Meeting about Commercial Operations Permitting in City Parks
[Duluth, MN] – The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Division invites the public to attend an upcoming informational meeting regarding Commercial Operation Permits for operators conducting business within City parks and recreation facilities. The City implemented a formal application process last year and has since taken feedback and assessed the program further. City Parks staff have recently revised the program for 2018 permits and will provide an overview on improvements to the program.
The Parks and Recreation Division facilitates the commercial operations permitting process in specific parks such as Chester Bowl Park, Leif Erikson Park, Sister Cities Park, Lincoln Park, Lake Place Park, Enger Park and Brighton Beach Park. The City’s responsibility lies in balancing the stewardship of our public green space, ensuring minimal impact to other park users and the environment and addressing entrepreneurial activity.
The public informational meeting will take place on:
Thursday, December 7, 2017
5:30-6:30 pm
Portman Community Center, 4601 McCulloch Street
City Parks staff will review the Commercial Operations Permit application, process and address other questions from attendees. The application is available for review at http://www.duluthmn.gov/parks/reservations-permits/ and scroll down to “Commercial Operations Permit” section.
Questions can be directed to Kraig Decker, Parks Permit Coordinator, at kdecker@duluthmn.gov or 218-730-4305.
