At 03:20 hours this morning, the Duluth Fire Department responded to a vacant house fire at 2809 W 3rd st. Upon arrival crews found a two-story house with fire showing on both floors. Crews fought the fire from the exterior as structural stability prevented an interior attack.
Initial damage estimates are at $30,000.
The Duluth Fire Marshal's office is investigating as to origin and cause of the fire.
Fire companies from Headquarters Station, Lincoln Park, and Spirit Valley responded to this fire. DPD, Water and Gas, as well as Minnesota Power were on scene assisting.
