NATURE OF INCIDENT: Garage Fire

INCIDENT LOCATION: 414 N 77th Ave W

At 13:06 hours today, the Duluth Fire Department responded to a report of a garage fire at 414 N 77th Ave W. Upon arrival, crews found a fully involved detached garage. Crews knocked down the exterior fire, and continued to extinguish two cars and a motorcycle in the interior of the garage. The house suffered some damage from the radiating heat. Occupants of the house had evacuated prior to our arrival.

A  vehicle parked on the outside of the garage, as well as neighboring structures were damaged. Initial damage estimates are $15,000 for the garage and $25.000 for contents.

The Duluth Fire Marshal's office is investigating as to origin and cause of the fire.

Fire companies from Headquarters Station, Lincoln Park, Spirit Valley, and Gary responded to this fire. DPD, Water and Gas, as well as Minnesota Power were on scene assisting.
