Duluth Parks Fund Neighborhood Grant programs awards $55,500 to community organizations

 

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth is announcing the recent awards totaling $55,500 in grants from the Parks Fund Neighborhood Grant program to community organizations. The Fund is administered by the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. The fund helps support community groups that enhance both the physical and social aspects of City parks. Funded applicants from the spring 2017 round include:

 

Chester Bowl Improvement Club, $5000 support for Summer Adventure Series

Community Action Duluth, $5000 mechanics that Mentor Event

Cyclists of the Gitchee Gumee Shores, $5000 Duluth Traverse trail maintenance

Friends of Dog Parks, $1500 benches at Observation Dog Park

Northland Paddlers Alliance, $4000 for community family and youth padding events

Gary New Duluth Development Alliance, $5000 for GND recreational sport court

Portman Recreation Association, $5000 for Portman Hockey rink improvement project

The Hills Youth and Family Services, $5000 for youth basketball program

Western Duluth Little League, $5000 for trail and accessibility improvements behind Wade Stadium

Wheels on Trails Organization, $5000 All may experience Duluth Outside events

Woodland Amateur Hockey Association, $5000 Upper rink boards

YMCA Duluth, $5000 Youth outdoors – Duluth adventure series
