Duluth Parks Commission to hold Annual Meeting on April 12
"Celebrating Partnerships in Park Planning and Stewardship"
[Duluth, MN] - The Duluth Parks and Recreation Commission invites the public to attend their Annual Meeting on April 12, 2017 at 5:00 PM in the Spirit Mountain Grand Chalet, 8551 Grand Ave. This year, the Parks and Recreation Commission will recap accomplishments, look towards the future and recognize key partners that have played a significant role in moving forward several park plans.
Duluth has an engaged and committed citizenry who share an unequivocal admiration for our park spaces and have tenacity to get things done. The City values all of its partners but this year, three in particular will be recognized that have made great strides in improving our park spaces: Ecolibirum3, Duluth Climbers Coalition and Duluth Cross Country Ski Club. These community partners will have a chance to provide highlights of their specific projects working with the City of Duluth.
The Annual Meeting is free and open to the public and will feature Cheryl Skafte, the City's Volunteer Coordinator, as the keynote speaker. Other speakers include the Commission Chair, John Schmidt and Director of Public Administration, Jim Filby Williams. Participants will also be able to visit with Parks staff following the program to learn more about projects and volunteer opportunities.
