NATURE OF INCIDENT: Structure Fire

INCIDENT LOCATION: 2006 W. 4th St.
The Duluth Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire possibly heavily involved, Two Engine from the Lincoln Park fire station found smoke showing from the front of the house and immediately took it's crew with fire hoses to the second floor of the house where they found thick black smoke and fire conditions, Two Engine quickly knocked down the flames and searched it's interior for any trapped occupants and none were found. Other fire rigs completed searches and confirmed that the fire had not spread past the room of origin. The Firefighters very quickly brought this fire under control and extinguished it.
Twenty Firefighters responded to this fire with no civilian or Firefighter injuries. This fire is suspicious in nature with a report of a person fleeing the scene before the fire was reported. Initial damage estimates are $20,000 dollars for the structure and contents. This fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Department Marshals office and any further statement will be provided by the Fire Marshal's office.
