On Monday, January 23rd, 2017 at 5:19 p.m., Duluth Police and the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 6700 block of Redruth Street in Duluth. The search warrant was the result of an investigation into the sale of controlled substances, specifically heroin, by a male at that apartment. During the search, investigators recovered approximately 25 grams of heroin packaged for sale, over $11,000 U.S. currency, drug packaging and drug paraphernalia. Investigators arrested a 32 year old male, Antwan Dwayne Ray, at the scene. Also present in the apartment were a 25 year old female and a 4 year old child.  Ray admitted to investigators that he was importing significant amounts of heroin from the Twin Cities area to Duluth for sale.

Today, Antwan Ray was formally charged by the Saint Louis County Attorney’s Office with 1st Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance, a felony. Ray’s bail was set at $250,000. Ray has a previous felony conviction in Indiana for Possession of Marijuana.
