Duluth Parks Fund Neighborhood Grant Program Issues $39,100 to community organizations
[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth is announcing the recent recipients of $39,100 in grants from the Parks Fund Neighborhood Grant program which is administered by the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. The fund helps support community groups that enhance both the physical and social aspects of City parks. Funded applicants from the fall 2016 round include:
Chester Bowl Improvement Club $5,000: purchase helmets
Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores $5,000: Duluth Traverse Trail maintenance
Duluth Climbers Association $4,800: organize community climbing events
Gary New Duluth Development Alliance $5,000: community garden
Hartley Nature Center $5,000: Hartley Park Stewardship awareness and education
Lincoln Park Business Group $5,000: 19th Ave West and Superior Street corner park rejuvenation
Neighbors of Lower Chester Park $4,300: NOLCP community use project
Duluth YMCA $5,000: nature backpacks and events
